Course Description
The dental professional is in a unique position to recognize the first oral health signs of vitamin deficiencies. Oftentimes, the patient is unaware of their condition. This course will discuss how the dental professional can utilize all tools available to recognize the most significant signs of vitamin deficiencies and how to educate the patient on the importance of seeking treatment to prevent long-term health conditions.
Participants will be able to identify oral manifestations linked to specific vitamin deficiencies such as enamel hypoplasia, leukoplakia, gingivitis, periodontal disease, decay (incipient to rampant), angular cheilitis, glossitis, candida, gingival pallor and xerostomia.
